Manager for an office comprised of 15 NWS forecasters and administrative staff responsible for providing river forecasts for 227 locations and hydrometeorological products for 220,000 square miles spanning 19 states inclusive of the Mississippi River downstream of Cairo, IL, and its tributaries. For the coastal zone of Louisiana and Mississippi, LMRFC processes National Hurricane Center storm surge output to produce river forecasts for surge conditions in the Mississippi River and other coastal watersheds. As a hydrologic forecaster, proficient in preparing 5 and 7 day river forecasts using NWS river models and HEC-RAS. Knowledge of calibration techniques and optimization schemes for NWS river models primarily SAC-SMA. As a hydrometeorologist, responsible for tech infusion and statistical review of precipitation observations, quality assurance processes, and compilation of long-term rainfall sets to inform studies for river modeling and climatological extremes.
