John Blackmore is the Mapping and Survey Supervisor at Luck Stone in Richmond, Virginia, the nation’s largest family-owned and operator of crushed stone sand and gravel. With 28 aggregate quarries and distribution yards, from northern Virginia to Atlanta, Georgia, John is focused on connecting people with information. Beginning his career in GIS, John is a champion of geospatial data and has popularized the use of this data through web applications and mobile apps. Seeing an opportunity to improve workflows, he led the implementation of drone mapping at Luck Stone for all imagery and terrain modeling used in design and engineering. He is consistently working to improve the application of geospatial data to drive business decisions.
